South Ripley 6, Rising Sun 5 – Zach Pickett and Jackson Cornett each rapped in 2 RBI for South Ripley. The Raiders’ Avery Halcomb earned the win by going 7.0 innings with 8 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts.
Switzerland County 16, New Washington 2
South Dearborn edged Franklin County in a dual meet on Wednesday, 171-172. Franklin County had the medalist, as Wyatt Rowlett shot a round of 37. South Dearborn, however, got great performances from Drew Miller with 40 shots, Ryan Roark with 41 and Mason Mastropaolo with 43.
East Central defeated South Decatur, 178-203, on Wednesday. EC’s Jared Busemeyer had the low score of 42.
East Central 4, Lawrenceburg 1
Franklin County 10, South Dearborn 1 – Franklin County had three players hit a home run: Kamryn McCool, Brook Otton, and Madison Brenner. Starting pitcher Kendall McCool shut down SD allowing only three hits and no earned runs.
Milan 9, Southwestern 1 – Milan’s Alex Dixon had a big game. She went 2-for-4 with a double, 2 RBI and a runs cored. Lexi Wert was stellar on the mound, pitching a 7.0 inning complete game with 4 hits, one earned run, and one walk while striking out 6.
Rising Sun 10, South Ripley 0 – Rising Sun freshman Sydney Pitts did it all. She pitched a 5.0 inning complete game with just 2 hits allowed, no walks, and 9 Ks. Pitts added a double, 2 RBI and 2 runs on 2-for-3 hitting. The Shiners’ Baylie Hunter went 2-for-3 with a home run, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.
