BOYS BASKETBALL

Rivertown Classic – First Round

Switzerland County 69, South Dearborn 61 – Hunter Hayes put in 18 and Kollin Hayes scored 17 for Switzerland County, who advanced to meet Lawrenceburg in the Rivertown championship game. Jon Tedesco led South Dearborn with 21 points.

Lawrenceburg 51, Rising Sun 39 – Jordan Houze finished with 19 points to lead Lawrenceburg to the Rivertown championship game. Brent Turner scored 11 for Rising Sun.

 

East Central 60, Rushville 47

Oldenburg Academy 58, Shawe Memorial 18

 

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Ripley County Tournament

Championship – Jac-Cen-Del 61, Batesville 50 – Tournament MVP Lilly Simon scored 21 with 5 rebounds and teammate Kayla Bowling had 18 points in the JCD win. Gabi Garcia led Batesville with 19 and Sylvia Phillips had 10.

Consolation – South Ripley 66, Milan 35

 

Greensburg 60, Franklin County 45 – Abby Orschell scored 13, Kayle McCool 12 and Amber Calihan 10 for Franklin County.

Shawe Memorial 40, Oldenburg Academy 32

 

 

SATURDAY, JANUARY 7

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

Rivertown Classic

Championship – Lawrenceburg 58, Switzerland County 44 – Tournament MVP Curtis White scored 24 – 19 of them coming in the second half – to lead Lawrenceburg to its third straight Rivertown championship. AJ Mueller added 10 for LHS. Switz’s Kollin Hayes and Justin Green each had 12 points.

Consolation – South Dearborn 62, Rising Sun 60 – Hunter Brindley led South Dearborn to the thrilling win with 16 points. Rising Sun’s Nick Koons had 18 points. Brent Turner scored 13 while Tristan Brown added 11.

The Rivertown Classic All-Tournament Team included MVP Curtis White of Lawrenceburg. Others included Lawrenceburg’s Jordan Houze, Switzerland County’s Kollin Hayes and Justin Green, Rising Sun’s Brent Turner, and South Dearborn’s John Tedesco.

Championship – Batesville 64, South Ripley 61

Consolation – Milan 64, Jac-Cen-Del 30

 

Union County 51, Franklin County 47 – Franklin County’s Trevor Murray led all scores with 14 while Dylan Little had 13.

 

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Rivertown Classic

Championship – Lawrenceburg 61, Switzerland County 47

Consolation – South Dearborn 69, Rising Sun 53 – Brooke Huddleston poured in 21 points for South Dearborn. Lucy Carrigan was awesome with 27 points for Rising Sun.

The Rivertown Classic All-Tournament Team was highlighted by co-MVPs Makenna White of Lawrenceburg and Lucy Carrigan of Rising Sun. Other members included Lawrenceburg’s Juliana Kemper and Macey Radenheimer, Switzerland County’s Whitley Schirmer, and South Dearborn Britney Beil and Brooke Huddleston.
