IHSAA 4A Sectional 14 at East Central – First Round

Bloomington South 4, Shelbyville 0

Columbus East 12, East Central 0 – East Central’s season comes to an end. Columbus East will face Bloomington South in the sectional semi-final on Friday, May 30.


IHSAA 3A Sectional 29 at Greensburg – Semi-Finals

Greensburg 7, Franklin County 1 – Greensburg’s Collin Rigney pitched a complete game allowing just four hits while striking out six. Greensburg advances to the sectional semi-final on Friday, May 30 versus Batesville.

Batesville 11, Lawrenceburg 4 – Batesville ups its record to 18-8 by scoring 11 runs on 11 hits, aided by two Lawrenceburg errors. Batesville will play against Greensburg in the sectional semi-finals on Friday, May 30.


IHSAA 2A Sectional 45 at Austin – First Round

Milan 6, Switzerland County 4 – Milan advances to play the winner of South Ripley vs. Austin in the sectional semi-final on Friday, May 30.

Suspended – South Ripley 2, Austin 1 – Game suspended in the 3rd inning due to lightning. Will resume Thursday with winner to face Milan in the semi-final on Friday, May 30.


IHSAA 1A Sectional 60 at Shawe Memorial – First Round

Jac-Cen-Del 4, Rising Sun 0 – Jac-Cen-Del took advantage of four Rising Sun errors to continue their season. JCD will meet South Decatur in the sectional semi-finals on Thursday, May 29.

South Decatur 5, Oldenburg Academy 0 – South Decatur’s Taylor Kopplin chose a good time to pitch her second no-hitter of the season. She struck out 14 batters.



IHSAA 3A Sectional 29 at South Dearborn – Semi-Finals

South Dearborn 9, Franklin County 0 – The Lady Knights’ Kooper Vertz pitched a complete game with 12 Ks. Morgan Wolfer also clobbered a 2-run home run in the first inning. #1 South Dearborn will play Rushville for the sectional championship on Friday, May 30.

Rushville 8, Lawrenceburg 1 – Rushville advances to the sectional championship game against South Dearborn on Friday, May 30. Lawrenceburg’s season ends with a 10-19 record.


IHSAA 2A Sectional 45 at Switzerland County – Final

Southwestern 5, Milan 0 – Southwestern claimed its first sectional title in softball since 2008. Milan’s season ends with a 12-11 record.




Rising Sun Invitational

Rising Sun won their host invitational golf meet on Wednesday with a low team score of 167. Milan was second at 176 and Switzerland County came in third at 185. South Ripley did not have enough players to qualify for a team score. Milan’s Travis Butte was medalist with a 37, followed by Rising Sun’s Bryce Murray with a 38 at the meet.
