BOYS BASKETBALL

South Ripley 73, Switzerland County 56 – South Ripley’s Zach Pickett scored 20 to lead the Raiders to the win. Avery Holcomb had 17 and Cody Samples and Dillan McQueen each scored 11. Austin South led Switz with 20 and Tyler Konkle had 19.

 

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

East Central 89, Harrison (Ohio) 26 – Four players for East Central scored in double-digits: Alyssa Robben with 18, Hayley Tippitt with 17, Logan Cox with 16, and Brilan McCory with 13.

South Dearborn 65, Taylor 35 – Kysten Bond had a 21-point game for the Lady Knights. Brooke Huddleston added 15 and Alyssa McClanahan scored 10.

Milan 69, Seton Catholic 18 – Milan’s Cionna Bailey starred with 27 points, 15 rebounds, and 3 steals. Teammate Courtney Bruns scored 9.

 

 

SWIMMING & DIVING

 

EC dominates tri-meet

EC AquaTrojans remained perfect on the season defeating Oldenburg Academy and Lawrenceburg on Thursday in Lawrenceburg. EC girls had 164 points, Lawrenceburg 80, and Oldenburg 40. In the boys competition, EC led 166, Lawrenceburg 65, and Oldenburg 40.

The AquaTrojans’ individual winners included Ethen Witte (200 freestyle), Klay Shipman (200 IM), Aly Bailey (1 meter diving), Noah Arnold (1 meter diving), Lydia Weber (100 butterfly), Jackson Ketcham (100 butterfly), Kyra Hall (100 freestyle), Matthew Badinghaus (100 freestyle), Owen Matthew (500 freestyle), Hannah Weber (100 backstroke), Zach Bovard (100 backstroke), Alexis deLong (100 breaststroke), and Alex Ketcham (100 breaststroke). EC went 1-2 in all six relays tonight.

Lawrenceburg’s first place finishers were Connie Walker (200 free, 500 free), Gianna DiCarlo (200 IM), and Jackson McCool (50 free). Personal best times were recorded by LHS’ George Beiderhake (200 Free, 100 Breast), Jackson McCool (50 free and 100 free), Courtney Edwards (50 free), Nick Grace (50 free, 100 free), Pablo David (100 fly), Nicole McCool (100 free), Jenna Nobbe (100 breast), and Jack Schwier (100 breast).

 

South Dearborn girls, Milan boys capture victory

South Dearborn girls and Milan boys won a tri-meet at Switzerland County on Thursday. The girls team standings were South Dearborn 124, Milan 103, and Switz 54. In the boy competition, it was Milan 122, South Dearborn 91, and Switz 17.

South Dearborn’s girls got their first win of the season, highlighted by first place finishers Holly Kraemer (200 FR, 100 FL, 400 FR Relay), McKenzie Bryant (200 IM, 100 FR, 400 FR Relay), Kaitlyn Rummel (500 FR, 400 FR Relay), and Ashley Chipman (400 FR Relay). The SD boys’ only first place finish came in the 400 FR Relay by the team of Isaac Houze, William Townsend, Blake Chapman, and Quinton Rowlett.

 

Batesville goes down at Centerville

Batesville dropped the boys and girls competitions at Centerville on Thursday. The Bulldog boys lost 121-45 and the girls lost 102-71. Boys event winners for Batesville included Adam Hollowell (50 free), Joseph Choi (100 free, 100 breast), Ethan Brewer (100 fly, 100 backstroke), Skylar Simpson (200 free), Quinn Rasnick (500 free), and the relay teams in the 200 free, 200 medley, and 400 free. Girls event winners were Ashley Daulton (50 free, 100 backstroke), Audra Brewer (100 free, 100 breast), Ella Gutzwiller (100 fly), Sonja Gaulin (200 free), Kate Poltrack (500 free), and the relay teams in the 200 free, 200 medley, and 400 free.
