Lucy Carrigan Sets Two Rivertown Classic Records, Earns ORVC Weekly Honors

(Rising Sun, Ind.) – Thanks to the holiday season, Ohio River Valley Conference basketball players had a few extra games to try and earn weekly honors.

The ORVC report for December 18-January 6 was released on Tuesday.

Rising Sun’s Lucy Carrigan was named the ORVC Girls Basketball Player of the Week. Over five games, Carrigan averaged 27.5 points per game. The Lady Shiners star also set two Rivertown Classic tournament records on her way to All-Rivertown Team honors, including the single-game scoring record with 30 points, and the tournament record with 54 points. Carrigan currently leads to the ORVC in scoring at 24.6 points per game.

On the boys side, Switzerland County’s Austin South is the ORVC Boys Basketball Player of the Week. South also performed well at the 18th Annual Rivertown Classic. The Pacers star totaled 47 points and 16 rebounds in two games to earn a spot on the All-Rivertown Team.
