(Hamilton County, Oh.) – The man accused of leaving a woman for dead in a wrecked car in Whitewater Township is behind bars.
Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies arrested Scott D. Williams on Thursday after charging him with aggravated vehicular homicide and leaving the scene. Williams, 27, was found hiding in the attic of his mother’s Green Township home.
Williams is accused of wrecking his car on Cilley Road near Kilby Road the morning of June 15 and running away. He left his passenger, Jena Nicole Higgins, in the mangled vehicle over an embankment off the road not visible to passing traffic.
Higgins, a 29-year-old mother of four boys ages three to 10, was found dead more than a day later. She had reportedly met Williams at a bar in Cleves just hours before the wreck.
Police say Williams reported his car stolen shortly after the crash and went to the hospital, claiming he had been injured in a fight. A blood test at the hospital allegedly found alcohol and cocaine in his system.
Williams is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center. His arraignment in Hamilton County Municipal Court is scheduled for Friday morning.
