Press release from Lawrenceburg Main Street

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Improving weather and good times are all the reason you need to visit Downtown Lawrenceburg this weekend.

On Friday evening from 5:30 to 9:15, Lawrenceburg Main Street will be sponsoring the monthly First Friday Wine Walk and Shop with a Mardi Gras Theme which will feature a decidedly local flavor.  Resident musician, Jimmy Thomas, will provide lively music and the Boogie Nights bus (complete with the bead tossing Boogie Nights Girls!) will lead a short parade down Walnut Street at 8:00.  Downtown businesses will be offering beverages, snacks, and of course plenty of reasons to shop!   Participants are eligible to win a number of prizes including gift certificates and the Grand Prize, an overnight stay at Hollywood Casino complete with gift certificates for Final Cut and the breakfast buffet.    Make a purchase at a participating business or register for the walk and visit each of the listed participating businesses to qualify.  Registration begins at 5:30 at 131 Walnut Street (former First Financial Bank building) and lasts until 8:00.    Local Olympic Bronze Medalist, Nick Goepper, will be on hand at that location from 6:30 to 9:30 to meet and greet participants.

The fun in Lawrenceburg doesn’t end on Friday night.

Gather your family and friends on Saturday because you won’t want to miss a very special celebration.   Mayor Carr, the City of Lawrenceburg and Perfect North Slopes welcome supporters from throughout the tri-state to officially welcome home Olympic Medalist Nick Goepper with a celebration on Saturday, March 8th.  The celebration will begin with a parade for Nick and his family at 10:30am on Walnut Street in downtown Lawrenceburg.  Following the parade a celebration will be held at Lawrenceburg High School where Nick will be recognized by local officials and other supporters.
