(Florence, Ind.) – Cincinnati Reds broadcasting legend Marty Brennaman held his annual golf outing at Belterra Casino Resort on Sunday and Monday.
Nearly $2.7 million has been raised for the Reds Community Fund since the first CBTS Marty Brennaman Golf Classic was held on the Switzerland County course in 2005.
The 13th annual outing with the Baseball Hall of Fame broadcaster raised more than $185,000, according to a news release. Former players including Aaron Harang, David Weathers, and Hal Morris were special guests along with 45 celebrities.
“I’m most proud of the awareness and charitable dollars that this event has raised in 13 years,” said Brennaman. “The Reds Community Fund means a great deal to me as it works year-round to provide a variety of outreach programs for underserved kids throughout Reds Country.”
The outing included golf as well as a Sunday evening dinner, comedian Greg Warren, and live music by Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo at Belterra’s CenterStage Showroom.
The golf outing funds raised support baseball and softball-themed outreach programs of the Reds Community Fund.
The 13th Marty Brennaman Golf Classic is in the books. Best weekend of the year for me personally. My thanks to all those responsible for making it the event it has become. CBTS, Delta, Belterra, the Reds Community Fund and all of you who came to play golf and the dinner and the comedy show. See you next year! @amandabrennaman @ashb3680 @lukebrennaman4 @ellabrennaman
