united-community-bank-logo(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – More changes in the executive offices at United Community Bancorp were announced Thursday.

Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Bank Operations for the bank’s eight branches, Mike McLaughlin will become UCB’s Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Corporate Secretary on July 1.

McLaughlin has been with the Lawrenceburg-based bank since it formed in April 1999 with the merger of Perpetual Federal Savings & Loan Association and Progressive Federal Savings Bank. He started with Perpetual Federal in 1983, becoming Executive Vice President for five years before the merger occurred.

Mike McLaughlin’s new roles had been those of his brother, E.G. McLaughlin. UCB announced in April that E.G. McLaughlin would be bumped up to the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer starting July 1, the day after the retirement of current president and CEO Bill Ritzmann.

Ritzmann, who has been with UCB since its inception and started with Progressive Federal Savings Bank in 1975, will continue to serve on the bank’s board of directors.

A Lawrenceburg native, Mike McLaughlin graduated from Purdue University and has served on numerous community service organizations in Dearborn County and the Lawrenceburg area.
