(Dillsboro, Ind.) – A Dillsboro mother accused of overdosing on heroin in a McDonald’s restaurant play area pleaded guilty and was sentenced Monday in a Hamilton County, Ohio courtroom.

Tamica Jeffers, 33, pleaded to a misdemeanor charge of Child Endangering in Hamilton County court, WCPO-TV reports. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss a second charge.

Jeffers and her boyfriend, Robert Palmer, 37, also of Dillsboro, made national headlines when they allegedly overdosed while with Jeffers’ 8- and 5-year-old children at the McDonald’s in Green Township on March 9.

The television station reported that Jeffers wept in court as she denied ever using heroin. She told Judge Fanon Rucker that she had a seizure after Palmer overdosed at the indoor playground.

The judge sentenced Jeffers to six months in jail, with credit for 132 days served.

Last week, Palmer was sentenced to six months in prison after his conviction.
