(Rising Sun, Ind.) – A large crowd is expected at Thursday evening’s Ohio County Board of Zoning Appeals meeting.

The BZA will take up an appeal by property owners Rod and Kay Ballart on a special exemption that would allow the couple to host a large motocross event later this year. Some neighbors have voiced opposition to the idea, citing safety and noise concerns. You can read more on the disagreement in this previous Eagle 99.3 article.

The BZA meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Ohio County Courthouse in Rising Sun. Due to the anticipated crowd, the meeting has been moved to the Ohio County Circuit courtroom on the second floor.

Ohio County Building Inspector Tom Cappel said that about 50 people have attended each of the two previous meetings on the Ballart’s special exemption request.

Eagle 99.3 will report the outcome of the meeting Friday morning.
