Motorcyclist Airlifted After Crash In Franklin Co.

(Franklin County, Ind.) – One person was airlifted to the hospital following a motorcycle accident in Franklin County.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash around 11:51 a.m. on Saturday on State Road 229, just north of its intersection with Joe Road.

Deputies say Donald R. Beasley, 58, of Franklin, was traveling northbound on SR 229 when he lost control of his Harley Davidson while trying to negotiate a curve.

Beasley, who was not wearing a helmet, went over a graded embankment and was ejected from the motorcycle which continued rolling and landed on top of him.

He was transported by Stat Flight helicopter to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. His condition was not disclosed.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Eagle Fire Company of Oldenburg and Batesville EMS.
