(Versailles, Ind.) – Lovers of the great outdoors will want to mark their calendars for an upcoming event in Versailles.

The fourth annual Hassmer Fest takes place September 22-24 at Versailles State Park.

This year’s event is being tabbed as “The Year of the Worm” in celebration of the newly completed Worm Hole Trail. With the new trails completion, the state park’s total trail system is 24 miles long.

Mountain bikers are encouraged to come out and ride the scenic trail, enjoy some free camping and repeat.

The event sponsored by the Southeast Mountain Bike Association (SIMBA) will also feature live music, beer vendors, raffles, yoga, kids’ events, and more.

Online registration is $30 and includes an official Year of the Worm t-shirt. The online registration deadline is September 20. Day-of-event registration is $40.

All proceeds will support the efforts of the volunteer trail crew within Versailles State Park.
