(St. Leon, Ind.) – Several people were injured when a medical condition caused a motorist to lose control of their vehicle in the parking lot at East Central High School.

The accident happened at around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, according to Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Deputy Brian Jansen. Visitors were arriving to attend a choral concert at the ECHS Performing Arts Center.

Jansen says that a motorist suffered a medical episode as he or she attempted to park a vehicle in the parking lot. That driver lost control of their vehicle.

“The vehicle struck four different vehicles which each one of those vehicles were pushed into another vehicle,” said Jansen.

Several people were transported to the hospital. One victim who was sitting in a parked car when their vehicle was struck was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center by Air Care. The names of the victims and their conditions have not been released.

The incident is still under investigation with the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department.
