UPDATE: Neighbors Report Late Night House Fire
Update published at 1:04 p.m.:
Nobody was injured in Sunday night’s house fire on Mt. Pleasant Road, but the home is likely a complete loss, says Bright Fire Department Deputy Cheif Jason Eckhoff.
Firefighters were called to the scene at around 10:30 p.m. when neighbors called 911 to report that the home was fully involved in fire. That is exactly what firefighters found when they arrived. The 1 1/2 story home’s heavy timber construction made the blaze difficult to extinguish, Eckhoff said.
Nobody was injured. The homeowner was not present at the time.
Eckhoff said the cause is possibly an electrical problem, but the investigation is continuing.
Approximately 30 firefighters from Bright, Miller-York, St. Leon, and New Trenton fire department were on the scene until about 3:00 a.m. Greendale EMS also assisted at the scene.
