(Batesville, Ind.) – A new labor agreement for manufacturing employees at Batesville Casket Company extends to May 2016.

The new four-year collective bargaining agreement was reached late last week between the company and members of United Steelworkers Local 525U. It covers workers at the company’s manufacturing facilities in Batesville.

Batesville Casket president Kim Dennis called the agreement good for both parties.

“Congratulations to everyone at the table who negotiated this agreement, which allows Batesville to continue to attract and retain the most skilled workers in the industry by offering a competitive wage and benefit package. It also ensures we have the flexibility to react to changes in our marketplace, while giving our employees a level of stability for the duration of this four-year term,” she said.

About 100 Batesville Casket Company employees lost their jobs when the company eliminated the second shift at its Doll Plant in Batesville earlier this year.
