(Switzerland County, Ind.) – Switzerland County citizens who want to help take on the local substance abuse problem are invited to a meeting to be held Tuesday, June 13.

The Switzerland County Commissioners has invited the citizens to an organizational meeting for a new endeavor coordinated by the Community Foundation of Switzerland County.

“We all know that this issue has been around a very long time,” said County Commissioner Mark Lohide. “Every day we hear more and more stories of drug use, drug arrests and overdoses of our citizens. We can’t wait any longer.”

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Switzerland County Technology and Education Center, 701 W. Seminary Street, in Vevay. All are welcome, but if you plan to attend you are asked to inform the community foundation by calling (812) 427-9160 or emailing cfsci@cfsci.org.

“This meeting is the first step, so if you cannot make the 13th, watch for future announcements of meetings. We all need to be involved,” said foundation executive director Pam Acton.
