(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) –  With Lawrenceburg mayor-elect Kelly Mollaun’s resignation, the Lawrenceburg Community Schools Board of Trustees is seeking a new board member.

Mollaun, a Republican, won the race for Lawrenceburg mayor on November 3. Because state law prevents him from holding two offices at one time, Mollaun will be resigning his seat on the school board on December 31.

Mollaun’s term on the school board runs through December 2016. A new board member must be selected to fill the Lawrenceburg City district seat until then.

“We encourage anyone who has interest in serving the public to submit an application,” an announcement from school board president Greg McAdams said.

Eligible Lawrenceburg City district residents can submit an application now through November 30 at 4:00 p.m. Applications can be obtained at the Lawrenceburg Community Schools Administration Office, 300 Tiger Boulevard, or on the school corporation website under “Latest News”.
