Press release from Dearborn County Retired Teachers Association

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Thank a Teacher! is a new program sponsored by the Dearborn County Retired Teachers Foundation, Inc.,  to show appreciation to a former or current teacher, counselor, coach, sponsor, school secretary, instructional assistant, bus driver, janitor, principal, superintendent, or retiree who has made a different in one’s life or the life of his/her child.

To participate one should contribute a minimum of $20 to the Educator Grant/Award of the Dearborn County Retired Teachers Foundation which is given annually to a creative and innovative classroom teacher in Dearborn County for use in the classroom.  Money can not be used for any personal expenses.  The award is for the students in our local schools.

Honorees will receive a card from the Foundation announcing the contribution in honor or memory of a beloved school employee.  Your personal thank you letter will be included with the contribution.

Thank a Teacher! is a thoughtful gift.  Not only does it provide recognition and appreciation for those who have served, but it helps continue quality education in our schools.  Budget cuts in recent years have hampered the development of many programs which engage the students in meaningful learning.

To participate in the program, please send your tax-deductible check to the Dearborn County Retired Teachers account at the United Community Bank (UCB), attention Amy McClure, P. O. Box 4070, Lawrenceburg, IN.
