(Highland Heights, Ky.) – Details are beginning to surface explaining why former Northern Kentucky University Athletic Director Scott Eaton was fired last month.

The university had previously declined to release details surrounding Eaton’s March 18 dismissal.  According to a letter from NKU President Geoffrey Mearns released Friday, Eaton had “intimate, inappropriate relationships” with four university employees, including two he supervised.

Eaton reportedly admitted to the relationships, including a fifth one in which he had relations with a student in a class he taught.

“This pattern of misconduct, which he acknowledged, constitutes a violation of our Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct,” Mearns stated.

Three of the employees have since left NKU and the student has graduated.

NKU is continuing its national search for a new AD. Former Wright State University AD Michael Cusak was named the school’s interim athletic director April1.
