(Osgood, Ind.) – The National Weather Service says it has confirmed that a tornado did touch down Thursday night in Ripley County.

The short-lived EF1 touched down between Osgood and Napoleon at around 10:00 p.m. The top winds were estimated around 90 MPH.

The twister did knock a home off its foundation and damage a barn on North Finks Road. Local authorities did not report any injuries.

A Tornado Warning was sounded for Ripley, Dearborn, and Franklin counties around the time the tornado was reported.

That Ripley County EF 1 was the first February tornado in the tri-state since 1967. It was the first to hit Ripley County since a deadly EF3 ripped through nearby Holton in March 2012.
