Ohio Gov. To Sign Brent Spence Bridge Toll Bill Wednesday
(Cincinnati, Oh.) – Ohio Governor John Kasich is coming to Cincinnati to launch the next phase in the planning for a new Brent Spence Bridge.
The governor will sign a bill Wednesday, a week after it earned state lawmakers’ approval. Senate Bill 533 would allow electronic tolling to pay for the new bridge and begin highway reconstruction work approaching the span.
The signing will take place at Paul Brown Stadium.
In April, the Kentucky state legislature passed a bill that would have banned tolls on the proposed Brent Spence Bridge. However, Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear later vetoed that bill, likely keeping the bridge replacement project alive.
