(Aurora, Ind.) – South Dearborn High School swimmers received some Olympic-level instruction this past Saturday.

Eleven-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte was at the high school in Aurora. He assisted in swim drills for the South Dearborn Sea Dragons swim team.

Lochte, 29, claims five gold medals, three silvers, and three bronzes. The U.S. swim team member holds the world record in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay (long course) and individual records in the 100-meter medley, 200-meter medley (long and short course), and the 400-meter individual medley (short course).

The Sea Dragon Swim Team is an age group team that consists of both Lawrenceburg and South Dearborn kids.  The Sea Dragons also invited teams from Milan, Batesville, and Greensburg to take part in the clinic with Ryan Lochte that took place at South Dearborn High School.  The picture above is of Ryan Lochte and our coaches.  Ryan Lochte ran the drills, so it was a great opportunity for the kids to learn how an Olympian practices.

Please discontinue the hurtful negative comments....these people are donating hours and hours of personal time to the youth of our area and deserve our respect.  Thank You coaches and parent board of South Dearborn Swimming for your time and efforts in leading our youth (children from all surrounding counties are invited to participate, not just Dearborn County) into such a healthy and positive endeavor!  Thank You Ryan Lochte for inspiring the young people of Southern Indiana!
