One Arrested After Police Pursuit Through Aurora; Speeds Reached 100+ MPH

(Aurora, Ind.) – A Lawrenceburg man was arrested following a vehicle pursuit in Dearborn County.
Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies initiated a routine traffic stop for no headlights on U.S. 50 eastbound in Aurora around 2:54 a.m. on Thursday.
Deputies say the vehicle driven by Joel P.R. McAdams, 19, of Lawrenceburg, fled eastbound in the westbound lanes of U.S. 50 at a high rate of speed.
According to a news release, McAdams’ vehicle reached speeds of 100 MPH on U.S. 50.
McAdams wrecked his vehicle twice before being taken into custody without further incident. He did suffer minor injuries and was transported to Dearborn County Hospital for treatment.
An OWI investigation was completed, and McAdams was allegedly found in possession of drugs.
He is currently lodged in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center. Formal charges have yet to be filed.
