One Injured After Crashing Into Stopped Car In Franklin Co.

(Laurel, Ind.) – One person was injured after crashing into a vehicle that was stopped in a private driveway.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the two-vehicle accident on U.S. 52, just west of West Roberts Road around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Deputies say Sandra Reese, 67 of Laurel, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 52 when her vehicle went off the roadway, continued through a ditch, and struck a vehicle and mailbox.

Charles Rose, 55, of Laurel, told investigators that he had just pulled into private driveway when he saw Reese’s vehicle go through the ditch and strike his car. Rose said he was unable to get out of the way.

Reese was transported by Laurel EMS #3 to Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by Indiana State Police Trooper Barry Bischoff, Laurel Volunteer Fire Department, Laurel E.M.S. #3, and Responder 24.
