One Stabbed, One Arrested In Brothers Brawl In Franklin Co.

(Brookville, Ind.) – An argument between brothers turned into a bloody fight in Franklin County last week.
Brookville Police responded to the incident on U.S. 52 at Johnson’s Trailer Park on November 3.
Upon arriving at the scene, police say they located a male subject, identified as Herschel Browning, bleeding from what appeared to be a stab wound on the left side of his neck.
Browning explained to police that he had gotten into an argument with his brother, George Browning, 46, and was stabbed in the neck.
According to a probable cause affidavit, George had been invited to the residence to help mediate a discussion between Herschel and his wife about marital issues.
Hershel, who suffered minor vascular damage from the stabbing was transported to University of Cincinnati Hospital for treatment. He has since been released.
George was located later that day in Oxford, Ohio, where his girlfriend worked. He taken into custody by charged with Battery with a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 felony).
During an interview at the Oxford Police Department, George Browning allegedly admitted to stabbing his brother in the neck. He added that Herschel pointed the crossbow in his direction before putting it down, and that his brother threw the first punch.
Browning is currently being held in Butler County Jail on $10,000 cash bond.
