(Cincinnati, Oh.) – Southeastern Indiana will be well-represented in the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade.
The Lawrenceburg Knights of Columbus will be steering their Santa Maria parade float in the parade that starts at noon. Dearborn County resident Jim Scott is the parade’s official spokesperson.
High school bands from East Central, South Dearborn, Jac-Cen-Del, and Franklin County will be part of the festivities.
Boone County residents will see some familiar faces, too. Also in the parade is the Rabbit Hash General Store, which cut the ribbon on its newly rebuilt store just this past weekend. The Boone County Elite 4-H Equestrian Drill Team and the Boone County High School band are among the entries.
The Reds face the Philadelphia Phillies at Great American Ball Park with the first pitch at 4:10 p.m. Starting pitcher Scott Feldman gets the ball for Cincinnati. Philly goes with Jeremy Hellickson.
“I’m just approaching it like a regular game and trying to embrace the large crowd and the atmosphere,” Feldman said. “It’s like a playoff atmosphere almost.”
If you are headed downtown for the parade or game, be sure to take along an umbrella or poncho. Rain is in the forecast. Read more on our weather page.
