UPDATE: One Person Injured In State Road 46 Crash

Update published Dec. 14 at 11:43 a.m.: 

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office says one person was injured following a crash in West Harrison on Wednesday.

According to a news release, Andrew Simpson, 22, of Lawrenceburg, was involved in a single-vehicle crash on State Road 46 around 4:10 p.m.

Simpson was driving a work truck full of welding equipment when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole and overturned.

The accident caused State Road 46 to be closed between Barber Road and US 52 for several hours.

Simpson was transported to UC Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.


Original story published Dec. 13 at 4:37 p.m.:

(West Harrison, Ind.) – An accident has halted traffic on State Road 46 in West Harrison.

A truck carrying welding tanks reportedly overturned on State Road 46 around 4:10 p.m. At least one person is reported injured in the crash, and fuel has leaked onto the road.

Utility poles and phone wires are also down.

Police say State Road 46 is closed both directions between Barber Road and U.S. 52.
