Police Cooperation Gets Results In Theft Case

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg Police say two alleged car thieves who kept officers busy early Tuesday morning are now in custody.


Two male subjects in a red Jeep Wrangler reported stolen from Fairfield, Ohio had police on their tail after a pump and run at the UDF Mobil station on U.S. 50 at about 1:00 a.m. Tuesday. Despite an encounter with officers, the subject managed to elude capture and allegedly stole a gold Saturn vehicle from Hanover Avenue in Aurora.


The second vehicle theft allowed them to get away. That is until Wednesday when police took two suspects into custody.


John R. Hensley, 18, of Fairfield was arrested and charged with Theft, Auto Theft, and Resisting Law Enforcement. In addition a juvenile suspect was identified and charges are pending against that person.


Lawrenceburg Police said the gold Saturn stolen in Aurora was recovered from a location in Ohio.


In a press release, Lawrenceburg Police said the arrests were made possible by the combined efforts of Lawrenceburg Police, Aurora Police, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department, and Fairfield, Ohio Police.
