The first arrest happened on May 4. During a traffic stop on South Walnut Street in Rising Sun a deputy noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Further investigation revealed a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The driver, Garret Schultz, of Lawrenceburg, was arrested on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

On Friday, May 9, an Ohio County deputy found a vehicle parked at the Old French Bridge near the Dearborn-Ohio county line. Two men were found inside the vehicle smoking marijuana.

Jonathan McElfresh, of Aurora, and Kevin Caudill, Jr., of Rising Sun, were each arrested on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the April 19 arrests.

It's funny how they make it seem like there really"cleaning" up the streets by making small meaningless arrests involving marijuana, trust me I know, and wasting time that could be used for real problems. All the new laws in affect in other parts of our country, and you still get treated like a heroin user for using marijuana to treat depression, anxiety, etc. It's outrageous, if your not going to completely decriminalize this issue, then lower the severity of the crime at least. I'm tired of seeing young, and old lives be ruined and money and jail space wasted on a crime that i could cross the bridge and do it freely and just get a ticket! And a crime that most people want decriminalized anyway!

We are the United States of America and some States made it legal and others haven't...hmm...don't make much since to me....I really don't get how it's not legal anyways, it's a medical miracle, the pills would not be an addiction any longer, and the heroin  addicts can get off the needle exchange programs provided by our fine law makers...too many things just don't add up here, I could go on for hrs, and I guarantee many many Men and Women of all ages would agree with me. It's not a problem where we have to go stand in line and get a high so we don't flip out such as a Methadone Clinic, which is legal...and it's a synthetic heroin...hmm once more a question that I would like to see answered.
