Police Seeking Gas Station Gunman

The suspect in an early morning robbery at the Fast Track BP in Lawrenceburg was caught on surveillance video.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg Police have released a description of the suspect and getaway vehicle involved in a robbery and shooting Monday morning.


The Fast Track BP Gas Station on Arch Street was held up when a suspect wearing dark jeans, a hooded sweatshirt, gloves, and a mask entered the convenience store at about 4:45 a.m.


Detective Dave Schneider said the suspect approached the employee and demanded money from the cash register. There was no struggle and the employee complied with the robber’s demands, yet the suspect shot one round, striking the employee’s leg.


The suspect fled the gas station on foot and was believed to have entered an early 1990’s model Chrysler New Yorker type vehicle, dark in color. The suspect vehicle drove off eastbound on U.S. 50 towards Ohio.


The store clerk was taken to Dearborn County Hospital, then later transferred to University Hospital where he is listed in good condition.
