(Batesville, Ind.) – An armed robbery victim’s own 15-year-old daughter is among three people arrested for the alleged crime.

Batesville Police say the robbery was reported Wednesday, February 26 at approximately 6:30 p.m. at a residence at Village in the Woods apartments on Tekulve Avenue.

The victim, a 44-year-old man, told officers he was awakened in his bedroom by a male suspect armed with a knife. The victim was forced into the living room of the residence, where he observed a second suspect, also armed with a knife.

The suspects demanded money and the victim’s car keys. They then fled the residence, taking the victim’s vehicle.

The victim recognized the suspects as acquaintances of his 15 year-old daughter. As it turned out, the daughter fled the residence with the two male suspects. Police later determined she was involved in the robbery.

The suspects were spotted approximately 30 minutes later by a Decatur County Sheriff’s deputy traveling westbound on Interstate 74 getting off at the Greensburg exit.  Following a vehicle pursuit, all three suspects were taken into custody.

Arrested were, Angel Camarena, 18, along with a 16-year-old male and the victim’s daughter. All three are residents of Batesville. The trio is now facing charges of Armed Robbery (Class B felony), Criminal Confinement  (Class B felony), Auto Theft  (Class D felony) and Theft  (Class D felony).

The juveniles are being held in a juvenile facility. Camarena is being held in the Decatur County Jail on additional charges of Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle (Class D felony) and Reckless Driving (Class B misdemeanor).
