(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – They are not just any old quilts. They are Quilts of Valor which were gifted to four Purple Heart recipients during Lawrenceburg Fall Fest.

Local veterans Albert “Butch” Lowe, Larry Fahringer, and Jim Ketrow, as well as active SFC Anthony Alexander, were presented with Purple Heart plaques on the Fall Fest stage on Friday, September 29. P.G. Gentrup and Jerry Bondurant were the presenters.

Four Quilts of Valor were also awarded to each man. They were handed over by Kitty Parkhurst and Sheila Stevenson, who were representing the Rivertown Quilters Club.

Following the presentation, the veterans and the crowd were treated to a free concert by country music artist Cole Swindell.
