(Ripley County, Ind.) – The Ray Herman & Louise Herman-Crum Memorial Endowment Fund and the Frank Tarter Community Trust Fund are funds designated to improve the quality and enjoyment of life for the residents of Osgood and the rural community surrounding Osgood. These funds connect people who care with causes that matter as they directly benefit the town of Osgood and residents of the Osgood area.

In June, the Ripley County Community Foundation in collaboration with a local advisory committee, distributed funds from the Herman-Crum Fund and the Tarter Fund to support local organizations. The Foundation distributed $2,950 total from the Herman-Crum Fund. $950 went to the Osgood Lions Club for fundraising equipment, mulch, flowers, and flags for the fairgrounds, $1,000 to the Ripley County Food Pantry for food, and $1,000 to Osgood Beautification and Main Street Department to purchase seasonal banners.

The Foundation distributed $5,000 from the Tarter Fund. $600 went to Ripley County Youth Soccer to purchase benches, $735 to Osgood Public Library to support the summer reading program, $1,815 to Child Evangelism Fellowship for counselor training, $50 to Osgood Lions Club for flowers and mulch, and $1,800 to the Jac-Cen-Del School Corporation for the “Positive Behavior Intervention Program.”
