Red Cross Aiding Family After Rising Sun Fire

(Rising Sun, Ind.) – A devastating fire has left a Rising Sun family without a home.

Firefighters with Rising Sun and Aurora fire departments responded to the structure fire on the 600 block of 4th Street around 9:32 a.m. on Tuesday.

The fire was under control within 40 minutes, but firefighters estimate the damage to be around $100,000.

One person was in the home at the time of the accidental fire, but was able to escape unharmed.

The residents are being aided by the American Red Cross.
