(Walton, Ky.) – A disabled veteran’s missing service dog has been found dead.

Bryan Vallandingham’s Siberian husky, Gunner, went missing on January 12 from their yard in Walton.

The family confirmed Monday that Gunner’s remains were found Sunday. No further details have been released, but the family said an investigation is ongoing.

The Vallandingham family says Gunner helped to alert when Bryan was about to have a seizure.
