Contract Awarded For Guilford Red Bridge Replacement

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation has a construction company in line to replace a Dearborn County bridge.
Collier Ridge Road Bridge 55 – also known as the Guilford Red Bridge – has been shut down since 2010 due to irreparable structural damage. A major step towards reopening the road with a replacement bridge has been reached.
Dearborn County Engineer Todd Listerman said Friday that he received notice from INDOT that a low bid of $1.17 million to Force Construction Company based in Columbus, Indiana.
“Next step is for INDOT to send the county an invoice for our 20 percent share and then INDOT will issue the Notice to Proceed so work can start,” Listerman said.
An exact start date for the bridge replacement project has not been announced.
