frontier-airlines-jet-01292013.jpg(Hebron, Ky.) – An airline at CVG is planning to expand its offering of flights, The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting.

Low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines began its first flight from Cincinnati to Denver in May of 2013. The carrier now has 15 flights weekly from Cincinnati to Denver and Trenton, New Jersey. Four new weekly flights to Washington D.C. begin taking off September 8.

The newspaper reports Wednesday that Frontier will be adding flights from Cincinnati to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Dallas, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale.

Those new Frontier flights may signal the start of competition with another discount carrier at CVG. Allegiant Air has also added flights to many of those same cities this year.

An official announcement from Denver-based Frontier Airlines may come on Thursday.
