(Undated) – Hot Tamales are the top choice for Hoosiers with a Halloween sweet tooth.
CandyStore.com, the self-titled “preeminent bulk candy dealers,” used its own sales data over the past ten years to determine each state’s top-selling candy.
Hot Tamales were number one in Indiana, with the retailer shipping 95,092 pounds of the hot cinnamon-flavored candy there. Starburst was second in Indiana, and Snickers was the third most-popular.
In Ohio, Blow Pops were tops at 150,324 pounds, followed by M&M’s and Starburst.
In Kentucky, Tootsie Pops are most popular with 67,829 pounds shipped there. Three Musketeers and Reese’s Cups were second and third, respectively.
The National Retail Federal estimates that American shoppers will spend $2.7 billion on candy this Halloween.
