(Columbus, Ind.) – A routine traffic stop was not so routine for a new police officer who found himself in a foot chase last week.
Columbus Police stopped a vehicle with fictitious plates around 2:00 p.m. last Wednesday.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Shane D. Wilson, 21, of Sunman, reports The Republic.
During the traffic stop, Wilson allegedly used force to flee the officers on foot. A short time later, Wilson was apprehended by a Columbus Police officer that was finishing his first day of training.
Wilson was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement. He was also wanted on a warrant out of Bartholomew County.
