(Ripley County, Ind.) – Josie Wesseler has earned the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award a girl can earn in Girl Scouting. Wesseler will receive her award during Girl Scouts of Central Indiana’s Girls of Distinction ceremony held on Saturday, June 17 at the Marriott in Indianapolis.

For her Girl Scout Gold Award project, Wesseler created a curriculum focusing on the importance of service for children attending bible school at Saint Louis Catholic Church in Batesville. Her curriculum included opening and closing programs, skits, and several different stations, ranging from stories to daily missions, that could be incorporated into a bible camp or taught to preschool students. Wesseler also created a website, freebiblecampresources.com, featuring the curriculum she created as well as other resources.

Wesseler is a graduate of Oldenburg Academy and plans to study mathematics at the University of Notre Dame. She is the daughter of Carrie and Neil Wesseler.
