Rising Sun Bicentennial Flying Into Town

The City of Rising Sun and Mac’s Seaplane Service have collaborated the event to bring seaplanes from across the country and the world to town in order to celebrate the city’s 200th birthday. The event will take place over July 19 and 20. It is an open invitation to all seaplane pilots.

Music on Main & Cruise In will take place Friday, July 18. Guests may take advantage of the hotels within walking distance, camping, restaurants, and the Ohio County Historical Society Inc. Museum.

On Saturday, July 19 a breakfast will be held in the hangar and dinner will feature NASA’s Bob Burns speaking of his involvement in developing the Martin Seamaster, a jet powered strategic seaplane bomber.
