(Aurora, Ind.) – The 2018 Rivertown Classic high school basketball tournament will be heard live on Eagle Country 99.3 January 3rd through 6th.

Coaches and athletic directors met for the blind draw of the 18th annual tournament on Wednesday at Hickory House BBQ in Lawrenceburg.

In each of the four brackets – boys and girls, varsity and junior varsity – Game 1 will pit the Switzerland County Pacers versus the South Dearborn Knights. Game 2 will see the defending boys and girls Rivertown Classic champion Lawrenceburg Tigers play the Rising Sun Tigers.

The girls varsity first round games will be played on Wednesday, January 3 with Game 1 at 6:00 p.m., followed by Game 2 at 8:00. The boys first round games will follow the same schedule on Thursday, January 4.

The girls varsity championship and consolation games will take place Friday, January 5. The consolation will tip off at 6:00, then the championship game starts around 8:00 p.m.

The final night of games will be Saturday, January 6 when the boys consolation game begins at 5:30 p.m. The boys trophy game will tip off at 8:00 p.m. The Rivertown Classic Cheerleading Competition will happen between the Saturday games.

For the first time in the tournament’s history, East Central will have a team in the Rivertown. Because Rising Sun does not have a girls reserve team, the Lady Trojans freshman squad has accepted an invitation to take their place in the first round matchup with Lawrenceburg.

Rivertown Classic junior varsity games will happen Tuesday, January 2. Switz and South Dearborn boys and girls will play at Switzerland County with the first game at 6:00 p.m. East Central and Lawrenceburg boys and girls will play at Rising Sun starting at 6:00. Reserve championship games will happen Saturday, January 6 at 10:00 a.m. for the girls and 11:30 a.m. for the boys at Lawrenceburg High School.

Single session tickets for the Rivertown Classic are $6.00 each and season tickets are $10.00 for students and adults. Preschool-aged children will be admitted free of charge.
