Press release from Indiana Department of Transportation

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation is planning traffic slowdowns on Interstate 74 approaching the State Road 46 overpass beginning at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, August 28.

Indiana State Police patrols will again stage “rolling roadblocks” delaying I-74 traffic near St. Leon in sequenced 20-minute segments while construction work is being done overhead at the bridge site.  The “roadblocks” will alternate between eastbound and westbound lanes until 7 a.m. Friday.

Duncan Robertson, Inc., of Franklin is the state’s contractor for this $2.1 million Seymour District bridge project which focuses on replacing the S.R. 46 bridge’s aging superstructure.  Steel beams are replacing existing concrete beams.  Piers will be repaired.  New bridge approaches will be built.  And a new bridge deck will be constructed atop the 4-span 258-foot-long structure.
