(Aurora, Ind.) – A local business is selling raffle tickets to benefit a family who went through an almost unimaginable tragedy.

Jent Construction first announced the fundraiser in April following the drowning deaths of two-year-old twin sisters Shaylyn and Jocelyn Spurlock in Aurora. The funds raised would be donated to the Spurlock’s parents to help defray funeral expenses or start a scholarship fund.

One lucky winner of the drawing will receive a free roof upgrade for up to 2,200 square feet from Jent Construction.

“I am hoping to remind the community that the family could still use our support. As things have settled down I’m sure the reminder that their children are gone rings louder. We want to help them keep their children’s memory alive by helping them start a scholarship fund that they mentions or pool safety awareness efforts,” said Ron Disbro with Jent Construction.

There are still 300 raffle tickets available. They can be purchased from Jent Construction for $20 each at the United Community Bank branch on U.S. 50-Green Boulevard in Aurora. Tickets may soon be available at other UCB branches, too, Disbro said.

The drawing will be held on Monday, August 4 at 9:20 a.m. on Eagle 99.3.
