S. Ripley, Southwestern Split ORVC V’Ball Crown; Rebels Take ORVC Fall All-Sports Title

(Versailles, Ind.) – The Ohio River Valley Conference fall sports regular season has ended, and conference champions have been crowned.

The ORVC report for the week of October 2-7 was released on Wednesday.

The South Ripley Lady Raiders and Southwestern Lady Rebels are the 2017 ORVC Volleyball Co-Champions. Each team finished the regular season with a 5-1 record in conference play.

Southwestern took first in the ORVC Girls Golf Championship on September 6-7 at Sunrise Golf Course in Madison. The Lady Rebels shot a combined 484. Switzerland County was second with a 517.

The individual medalist was Switzerland County’s Riley King. She held off Shawe Memorial’s Katie Hertz by a score of 100 to 101.

The ORVC Fall All-Sports Championship went to Southwestern with 50 points. South Ripley finished second with 38 points, followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 36 points.
