For Sale: Lawrenceburg HS Gym Floor

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Tiger fans are being given the opportunity to own a piece of Lawrenceburg High School history.

The Lawrenceburg High School athletic department along with Tiger Pride announced Friday that the school will allow fans to buy a piece of the basketball court floor at George “Bud” Bateman Gymnasium.

Orders will be accepted starting Saturday, March 8. The pickup date for the floor pieces will be Sunday, March 16 at 4:00 p.m. at the school.

The floor will be sold in different dimensions: $15 for a square foot, $30 for 1.5 square feet, and $50 for two square feet. Any other configuration larger than two square feet will be sold at $12.50 per square foot.

Individual letters that spell “LAWRENCEBURG” will be sold at a silent auction from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16 at the school.

George “Bud Bateman Gymnasium is being demolished this Spring due to serious issues with the structure’s foundation. A new $11 million gym will be constructed on the same site, with opening planned in the Fall of 2015.
