Santa By Seaplane: Jolly Old Elf Visits Rising Sun Dec. 1

Santa Claus will arrive in Rising Sun on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. by Mac’s Seaplane Service. The public is invited to watch his arrival at Rising Sun Riverfront Park. In case of inclement weather Santa will arrive by fire truck. File Photo by Kendal R. Miller.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) – Santa Claus is scheduled to arrive in downtown Rising Sun, Indiana by Mac’s Seaplane Service on Friday, December 1 at 5:00 p.m. The public is invited to watch his arrival at Rising Sun Riverfront Park on Front Street. In case of unsafe weather or river conditions, Santa will arrive by fire truck at the same location.

From the riverfront, Santa will walk to the City’s Pavilion and be welcomed with music performed by the Rising Sun Shiner Pride Band as he lights the official Christmas tree.

Moving on to the Pendleton Art Center located at 201 Main Street, Santa will talk with youths and pose for free photographs. While waiting on pictures, youths can decorate Tandy’s sugar cookies and meet and greet performers from Cincinnati’s Kinderballet.

Santa will remain at the Pendleton Art Center until 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Smoke on the Water will be serving hot cocoa and coffee.
