(Aurora, Ind.) – The South Dearborn Middle School Showcase Show Choir sang their hearts out at a competition the day after Valentine’s Day.

Showcase was first runner up at the Giant Spectacular Show Choir competition at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis on Saturday, February 15, says parent Aimee Cromer.

The competition was their first this season due to previous two being canceled for inclement weather. The choir was up against six other schools in their division.

The choir is made up of 23 8th graders, four instrumentalists, and four tech members. The group is directed by Monte Dole while Jason Johnson and Jason Burton handle the choreography.

The SDMS Showcase will travel to Fort Wayne on February 22 to compete in the Homestead Classic Competition. The group will host the Opening Knight Showcase Show Choir completion at South Dearborn March 7. They will end the year by traveling to Memphis, Tennessee to perform at Graceland on April 12.
