Security Camera Helps Police Identify Burglary Suspect

(Versailles, Ind.) – Versailles Police have solved and made an arrest in a home burglary.

According to the Osgood Journal newspaper, the burglary happened at a home on Tanglewood Road on Monday, March 17. The property owner’s surveillance camera footage helped police in making an arrest less than a day later.

Andrew L. Landis, 21, of Versailles, is charged with Burglary (Class B felony), Theft (Class C felony), and Probation Violation. He was arrested March 18 and remains held in the Ripley County Jail on a $7,550 bond.

Jewelry that Landis had stolen from the home was recovered at a business in Dearborn County.

According to jail records, Landis had been arrested just days earlier on March 10 for Possession of Marijuana and another Probation Violation charge.
